MODEL ETHNIC STUDIES CURRICULUM
On March 18, 2021, California's State Board of Education unanimously adopted the Model Ethnic Studies Curriculum which significantly moves forward the goal of broadening student access to ethnic studies programs statewide.

On April 2021, the California Council for the Social Studies committee on Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment developed this spotlight on California's Model Ethnic Studies Curriculum. Our educator inquiry guide supports the development of Ethnic Studies courses at the local level by highlighting tools to support instructional planning.
