About the Young People's Concerts

Since 1959, the Tulare County Office of Education and the Tulare County Symphony have partnered to bring symphonic music to the students of Tulare County. During the annual Young People's Concerts, students are treated to a live orchestral performance, coupled with lessons in music history and concert etiquette. Over 9,000 students from across the area attend the performances every year. The Tulare County Young People's Concerts are one of the oldest and largest youth concert programs in the nation.

The Young People's Concerts are open to students in grades 3-5. For more information, call the Visual and Performing Arts office at (559) 741-0809.

Coming to Tulare County in 2019!

The Tulare County Office of Education and the Sequoia Symphony Orchestra are partnering with Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute to launch the "Link Up" program in 2018-19. Students from around the world are participating in this interactive and engaging program. In the Link Up model, students in grades 3-5 are given the opportunity to join the orchestra. Over the course of the school year, students will learn to play the concert selections on recorders and they will be able to sing, play, and dance along as the orchestra plays. To round out the new initiative, this year's concerts will take place at the historic Visalia Fox Theatre.
