“A student with a performance goal might be worried about looking smart all the time, and avoid challenging work. On the other hand, a student with a learning goal will pursue interesting and challenging tasks in order to learn more.”
~Dweck, C.S. & Leggett, E.L. (1988)

There is a clear gap between what research has shown to work in teaching math and what happens in the schools and home. Jo Boaler has translated Carol Dweck’s concept of ‘mindset’ into mathematic instruction. Learn the steps that must be taken by schools and parents to improve math education for all.

Research based, this four-day series focuses on the practical use and application of the highly praised work done by Jo Boaler and Carol Dweck.

Spend four days building strategies to improve your mathematics culture by:
  • Changing beliefs
  • Analyzing how math is taught
  • Reevaluating grouping of students
  • Examining how we assess students
Teams of teachers and administrator are highly encouraged to attend. Registration includes a copy of Jo Boaler’s book “Mathematical Mindsets”.
